Migraine headaches are intense headaches that are often recurrent and are coupled with sensory discomfort with light or sound. Migraines can result from many causes, such as a sensitivity to medication, caffeine, alcohol or specific foods.
However, the most common cause for migraines is tension in the muscles of the neck called the subocciptial muscles. These muscles are very small and attach the base of the skull to the back of the neck. Through releasing these muscles, I can often relieve the tension and pain associated with migraine headaches. If you suffer from migraine headaches and would like to try a non-drug treatment for your discomfort, schedule a session with me today.
